The M.A. FORD. 12250000R.187 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance milling across a broad range of workpiece materials. Built to Series 122 specifications, it features a 1/2 inch mill diameter, a 3/16 inch (0.187 inch) corner radius, and a 2 inch length of cut. The four-flute, right-hand spiral design supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. The bright/uncoated finish keeps the carbide substrate exposed for applications where coating is not required or desired. Centercutting geometry allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. Machinists and toolroom professionals working with precision CNC mills and manual vertical mills install and use this end mill.
This end mill is suited for material removal and contouring operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The long-length configuration with a 2 inch reach and 4 inch overall length provides clearance for deeper pockets and stepped features where a standard-length tool would interfere with the workpiece or fixture. The straight cylindrical shank mounts directly into standard collet chucks, end mill holders, or hydraulic toolholders designed for 1/2 inch shank tools. The normal pitch flute spacing and medium helix angle balance chip evacuation with cutting stability across these material groups.
Designed for use with standard 1/2 inch bore toolholders including collet chucks, end mill holders, and hydraulic holders. Compatible with CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting straight cylindrical shank end mills. Intended for workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool release function is engaged before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder to the recommended engagement depth and tighten to the toolholder manufacturer's specified procedure. Verify runout with a dial test indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout will accelerate wear and reduce corner radius accuracy.
