The M.A. FORD. 12123440 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for precision milling in a wide range of materials. Carrying a 15/64-inch (0.2344-inch) cutting diameter and a 3/4-inch length of cut, this two-flute tool delivers efficient chip evacuation and clean square-shoulder profiles. The 1/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collets and end mill holders. Manufactured from micrograin solid carbide, it provides the rigidity and edge retention needed for demanding material removal in production and maintenance machining applications. The uncoated finish makes it a cost-effective general-purpose option when coating is not required.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on a broad spectrum of workpiece materials, including cast irons, non-ferrous metals, stainless steels, heat-resistant alloys, and plastics. The Series 121 regular-length design fits vertical machining centers, knee mills, and CNC routers where a 2-1/2-inch overall length provides adequate clearance. It is a centercutting tool, allowing plunge entry where needed. Typical users include machinist shops, tool-and-die operations, and maintenance technicians performing slotting, profiling, and pocket milling tasks.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide end mill compatible with standard 1/4-inch collets and end mill holders on vertical machining centers, CNC routers, and knee mills. Workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S are supported per manufacturer specification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder and tighten to the holder manufacturer's specified clamping procedure. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, as carbide tooling is brittle and should never be dropped or struck against hard surfaces.
