The M.A. FORD. 12118750A is a 2-flute solid carbide square end mill engineered for precision milling across a range of workpiece materials. Built from micrograin carbide with a TiAlN finish, it delivers hardness and heat resistance suited to demanding machining environments. The cutting diameter is 0.1875 inches (3/16 inch) with a 5/8-inch length of cut and a 2-inch overall length. The right-hand cut, right-hand spiral flute geometry combined with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. This tool is sold individually and is appropriate for use by machinists and CNC operators in job shop and production settings.
The 12118750A is suited for milling operations on a broad range of materials including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, nonferrous alloys, plastics, and high-temperature alloys, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard collet and end mill holders used in vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills. The regular length classification makes it a general-purpose choice for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling at small diameters.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or stocking tool for applications requiring a 3/16-inch diameter 2-flute solid carbide square end mill with a straight cylindrical shank. Compatible with standard collet systems accepting a 3/16-inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder and torque the retention mechanism according to the holder manufacturer's specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, particularly when working to tight tolerances at this diameter.
