The M.A. FORD. 12111810 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in demanding machining applications. With a mill diameter of 0.1181 inches (3.00 mm), a length of cut of 0.4724 inches (12.00 mm), and a 0.1181 inch straight shank, this tool fits standard collet and end mill holders used in CNC mills and manual machining centers. The 2-flute configuration with a 30-degree right-hand helical spiral flute promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Micrograin carbide substrate delivers the hardness and edge retention required when working in tough materials. This is a single-end, right-hand cut tool in the M.A. FORD. Series 121 lineup, supplied bright and uncoated.
This end mill is rated for use across a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and hardened materials. The 2-flute geometry makes it well suited for slotting, profiling, and plunge operations where chip clearance is critical, particularly in gummy or stringy materials. Standard length of cut puts it in the 0.3000 to 0.5000 inch LOC range category, making it appropriate for shallow-to-medium depth passes in tight-tolerance work. Machinists working in tool rooms, job shops, and production environments handling small-diameter detailed features will find this tool applicable.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard offering in the M.A. FORD. Series 121 line. The 0.1181 inch straight shank fits standard ER and end mill collets sized for 3.00 mm or equivalent imperial shank tooling.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per shop safety procedures. Seat the straight shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention mechanism to the tool holder specification before operation. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, as solid carbide is brittle and sensitive to improper handling. Consult the machine tool manufacturer and cutting tool data for recommended speeds and feeds based on workpiece material and depth of cut.
