The M.A. FORD 12107810 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of metalworking and machining applications. Built to Series 121 specifications, it features a 5/64 inch (0.0781 inch) cutting diameter, a 3/16 inch length of cut, and a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank with an overall length of 1-1/2 inches. The two-flute, right-hand spiral geometry is centercutting, allowing plunge cuts as well as conventional peripheral milling. Micrograin carbide construction delivers hardness and wear resistance suited to demanding materials. This tool is installed and used by machinists and CNC operators in job shop, production, and toolroom environments.
This end mill is suited for milling ferrous and non-ferrous metals, composites, and high-temperature alloys. The primary workpiece material codes cover cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, aluminum, steel, and superalloys (material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S). Its compact diameter and regular-length profile make it well suited for fine-detail slot milling, profiling, and contouring in tight geometries. The uncoated finish allows direct inspection of tool wear and makes it appropriate for applications where coating interaction with the workpiece is a concern.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, manual mills, and high-speed spindles accepting a 1/8 inch straight shank. Compatible with workpiece materials in groups H, K, M, N, P, and S as defined by the supplier data, covering cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, aluminum, carbon steel, and superalloys.
This end mill is installed by machinists and CNC programmers using a collet or end mill holder sized to the 1/8 inch shank diameter. Ensure the spindle and tool holder are clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Confirm runout within acceptable limits before beginning a cut, as small-diameter carbide tools are sensitive to deflection and vibration. Follow machine shop safety protocols, including proper RPM and feed rate selection for the workpiece material.
