The M.A. FORD. 12105500 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of metalworking and industrial machining applications. With a 0.055-inch cutting diameter and a 0.165-inch length of cut, this tool handles fine detail work and small-feature milling where dimensional accuracy is critical. The 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank and 1.5-inch overall length make it compatible with standard collet and chuck setups on CNC machining centers and manual mills. Two spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This is a right-hand cut, right-hand flute, centercutting tool, meaning it can be used for both plunge and peripheral milling operations.
The 12105500 is suited for machining a broad spectrum of workpiece materials, including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and titanium, as indicated by the primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Its regular length classification and small diameter make it well suited to tight-tolerance profiling, slotting, and contouring operations in production and job-shop environments. Machinists and CNC programmers working with micro-features or small-scale components will find this end mill appropriate for those demanding requirements.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill in the M.A. FORD. Series 121, compatible with standard 1/8-inch collets and tool holders used on CNC machining centers and conventional milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in a safe state before changing tooling. The 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank requires a properly sized collet or end mill holder torqued according to the machine or toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating the tool to protect the small-diameter carbide from premature breakage during initial cuts.
