The M.A. FORD. 12104680 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this tool delivers consistent edge retention and dimensional accuracy at small diameters. It features a 3/64 inch (0.0469 inch decimal) mill diameter, a 7/64 inch (0.1094 inch decimal) length of cut, and a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. The two-flute, right-hand spiral design with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation in a variety of workpiece materials. Center-cutting geometry allows for direct plunge entry. This tool is sold uncoated and is part of M.A. FORD. Series 121.
This end mill is suited for light-duty slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling on small-scale features in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, cast irons, and non-metallic materials. The small diameter makes it appropriate for fine detail work on CNC machining centers and manual mills where tight tolerances and smooth finishes are required. It is a regular-length tool, making it straightforward to program and qualify in standard tool holders.
Designed for use with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as designated in the input data. Fits standard 1/8 inch collets, ER collet chucks, and straight-shank end mill holders used on CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is in a safe state before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder and torque the retention system according to the holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout at the tip with a dial indicator before beginning a production run, as tool deflection at small diameters can affect dimensional accuracy.
