The M.A. FORD. 12100800 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision micro-milling operations. With a 0.008-inch cutting diameter and a 0.024-inch length of cut, this tool is engineered for fine-detail work where dimensional accuracy is critical. It runs a 2-flute, right-hand spiral flute geometry at a 30-degree helix angle, and the centercutting design allows plunge entry into the workpiece. The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.125 inches in diameter, and the tool overall length is 1.5 inches. This is an uncoated tool in the Series 121 regular-length lineup, suited for shops requiring tight-tolerance micro end mill performance.
This end mill is appropriate for machining a range of workpiece material categories including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, aluminum alloys, heat-resistant superalloys, and steel. It is intended for use on CNC machining centers and high-speed spindle setups where very small diameter tooling is required. Machinists working in aerospace, medical device, electronics, and precision component manufacturing will find this tool applicable to fine contouring, slotting, and profiling operations at micro scales.
Designed as an OEM-style micro square end mill for use with standard collet-style toolholders accepting a 0.125-inch straight cylindrical shank, appropriate for high-speed CNC spindles requiring Series 121 regular-length carbide end mills.
Installation of small-diameter end mills should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully de-energized and machine locked out per facility LOTO procedures. Ensure the collet and toolholder bore are clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Micro-diameter carbide tools are brittle and require careful handling to avoid chipping the cutting edges during setup. Follow machine tool manufacturer runout and clamping torque specifications for the toolholder in use.
