The M.A. FORD 11625000 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. The tool features a 0.250 inch mill diameter, a 0.750 inch length of cut, and a 2.5 inch overall length with a 0.250 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and edge retention needed for cutting harder workpiece materials. Three right-hand spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral milling, making it versatile across a range of machining operations.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on a broad range of workpiece material groups, including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, general steel alloys, and high-temperature superalloys, as indicated by material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. It is appropriate for use in production machine shops, tool rooms, and maintenance machining environments. The regular-length configuration fits standard tool holders without extended-reach adapters, making it a straightforward drop-in for typical vertical and horizontal milling setups.
Designed for use with standard 0.250 inch collets and end mill holders across vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. Compatible with workpiece material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S per M.A. FORD Series 116 designation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or placed in an e-stop condition before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder to the recommended grip length and torque the retention hardware per the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut to protect both the tool and the workpiece.
