The M.A. FORD. 11621870 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in machining operations. Built from micrograin carbide, it delivers a 0.2188 inch cutting diameter with a 0.625 inch length of cut and a 2.5 inch overall length. The three-flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This is a centercutting tool, allowing plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral milling. The bright, uncoated finish keeps the tool ready for immediate use across a broad range of workpiece materials. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on a wide range of materials, including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys, consistent with the primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The 0.25 inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collets and tool holders common to vertical machining centers and manual knee mills. Its regular-length profile makes it a practical choice for general-purpose slotting, profiling, and contouring cuts where extended reach is not required.
Designed as a general-purpose square end mill compatible with standard 0.25 inch collet and tool holder systems used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Suitable for workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer for Series 116.
Installation and use of this end mill should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator familiar with rotating cutting tool safety. Before tool changes, confirm the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, powered-down state. Ensure the tool holder and collet are clean and properly torqued to the machine manufacturer's specifications. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine tool operating procedures when setting speeds, feeds, and depth of cut.
