The M.A. FORD. 11618750A is a 3-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in demanding machining environments. Built from micrograin solid carbide and finished with a TiAlN coating, it delivers extended tool life when cutting ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The 3/16 inch cutting diameter and 5/8 inch length of cut make it well-suited for tight-tolerance profiling, slotting, and contouring passes. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation, and the centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry without a pilot hole. Right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration suits standard CNC and manual milling setups.
This end mill is rated for use on a broad range of workpiece materials, including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous alloys, plastics, and high-temperature alloys, as indicated by material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The straight cylindrical shank at 3/16 inch diameter fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders commonly found in vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills. It is intended for professional machinists and tool-and-die technicians working in production or job-shop environments where consistent geometry and coating uniformity matter on every pass.
Rated for workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous alloys, plastics, and high-temperature alloys. Fits any standard collet or end mill holder accepting a 3/16 inch straight cylindrical shank.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with proper tool holding and speeds-and-feeds selection. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or holder and torque the retention hardware to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator after mounting, as excessive runout at this diameter will accelerate flute wear and degrade surface finish.
