The M.A. FORD. 11612500R.020A is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. With a 1/8 inch diameter, 0.02 inch corner radius, and 3 flutes in a right-hand spiral configuration, this tool delivers both roughing and finishing capability in a single end, centercutting design. The AlTiN (ALtima) PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting ferrous and hard materials. At 1-1/2 inches overall length with a 3/8 inch length of cut, this is a compact, rigid tool suited for precision slot milling, profiling, and contouring operations.
This end mill is built for machinists working with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The Series 116 design with a 30-degree medium helix and normal pitch suits a wide range of CNC milling applications where corner integrity and surface finish are critical. It is intended for use with standard toolholders accepting a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry, giving machinists flexibility in complex part programs.
Designed for use with toolholders accepting a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials as noted in the Series 116 material application specifications.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, powered-down state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout at the tool tip before beginning a production cut, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on a small-diameter carbide end mill.
