The M.A. FORD. 11612500A is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for precision milling in a wide range of materials. Built on the Series 116 platform, it features a 1/8 inch cutting diameter, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 1-1/2 inch overall length on a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. The micrograin carbide substrate and TiAlN finish deliver hardness and thermal resistance suited for demanding cuts. Three spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle clear chips efficiently at high feed rates. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. This tool is installed and operated by machinists in CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual knee mills.
This end mill is designed for regular-length slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations. Its 1/8 inch diameter makes it well suited for detailed work, narrow slot cutting, and tight-tolerance contouring. Primary workpiece material codes listed by the manufacturer include H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering a broad spectrum of metals and non-metals commonly encountered in job shop and production environments. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional CNC spindle configurations.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill suitable for use in standard CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as designated by the manufacturer.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's guidelines for tool holding and runout specifications. Secure the shank fully in a collet or end mill holder and verify minimal runout before operating at speed. Confirm spindle rotation direction matches the right-hand cut designation before engaging the workpiece. Follow all applicable shop safety protocols and machine guarding requirements during tool changes and operation.
