The M.A. FORD. 11607870 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of materials. It features a 0.0787-inch (2 mm) cutting diameter, a 0.3543-inch length of cut, and a 0.1181-inch straight-cylindrical shank. The three-flute, right-hand helical design with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Manufactured from micrograin carbide in a bright uncoated finish, this end mill is suited for demanding applications where dimensional accuracy and tool life are critical. It is a single-end, center-cutting tool intended for use by machinists and tooling professionals on CNC and manual milling equipment.
This end mill is rated for use across a broad spectrum of workpiece materials, including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, steel, and high-temperature alloys, as indicated by primary material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The standard-length geometry and small cutting diameter make it well suited for slotting, profiling, and light pocketing operations in tight-tolerance work. It is a Series 116 tool from M.A. FORD., a line recognized in production and tool room environments for consistent ground geometry and repeatable performance.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in standard straight-cylindrical collet systems accepting a 0.1181-inch (3 mm) shank diameter. Compatible with workpiece material categories H, K, M, N, P, and S as defined by the supplier specification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and power is locked out before installing or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully in a clean, properly sized collet or tool holder and torque the retention hardware to the machine manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, as solid carbide tooling is brittle and should not be used if the flutes show visible damage.
