The M.A. FORD. 11187500 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for precision metal removal in demanding machining applications. Built from micrograin carbide, it delivers the hardness and edge retention required for cutting ferrous and non-ferrous metals, cast iron, stainless steel, titanium, and high-temperature alloys. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral design with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting at elevated feed rates. At 7/8 inch in diameter with a 1-1/2 inch length of cut and 4 inch overall length, this end mill fits standard toolholders and suits a wide range of roughing and finishing operations.
This end mill is suited for use on vertical and horizontal machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills requiring a 7/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S indicate compatibility across hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, carbon and alloy steels, and heat-resistant superalloys. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry into the workpiece, expanding its utility in slotting, profiling, pocketing, and peripheral milling operations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production end mill for applications requiring a 7/8 inch diameter, 4-flute solid carbide square end mill with a straight-cylindrical shank, per M.A. FORD. Series 111 specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully into a properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention hardware according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before engaging the workpiece, and confirm spindle speed and feed rate settings match the workpiece material and depth of cut before starting the cut.
