The M.A. FORD 11125003 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 1/4 inch diameter with a 0.03 inch corner radius that blends the floor and wall of a milled pocket, reducing stress concentrations and extending tool life compared to sharp-corner geometry. The 4-flute, single-end configuration with a 30-degree helix and centercutting capability allows both plunge entry and high-efficiency side milling. The uncoated micrograin carbide construction provides consistent edge sharpness across a wide range of workpiece materials. This tool is intended for use by machinists and CNC programmers working in precision machining shops, tool rooms, and production environments.
The 11125003 is suited for roughing and finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its 3/4 inch length of cut and regular-length geometry make it a practical choice for shallow-to-moderate depth pocketing, profiling, and slotting on CNC machining centers and manual mills. The straight-cylindrical shank mounts directly into standard toolholders. Series 111 from M.A. FORD targets general-purpose and multi-material milling where a single tool must handle varied stock.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials as specified by M.A. FORD Series 111 application data.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. The machine spindle must be at a full stop and the tool changer or spindle lock engaged before loading the end mill into the toolholder. Use a calibrated torque wrench and the toolholder manufacturer torque specification when tightening set screws or collet nuts. Confirm runout with a dial test indicator after mounting before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates corner wear on radius-end geometry.
