The M.A. FORD. 11123440 is a solid carbide, 4-flute square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers consistent cutting performance and extended tool life compared to high-speed steel alternatives. The mill measures 15/64 inches (0.2344 inches) in diameter with a 3/4-inch length of cut and a 1/4-inch straight cylindrical shank. Overall length is 2-1/2 inches. The 30-degree helix angle and right-hand spiral flute geometry promote smooth chip evacuation and reduce chatter during operation. This tool is centercutting, allowing plunge milling when the application requires it. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops and production environments are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for milling operations across a broad range of workpiece materials. The primary workpiece material codes listed include H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous materials, general steels, and heat-resistant super alloys. It fits standard 1/4-inch collets and tool holders used in vertical machining centers, knee mills, and CNC routers. Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool holder de-energized before mounting or removing the end mill. Ensure the shank is fully seated in the collet to the recommended engagement depth and that the collet nut is torqued using the tool holder manufacturer's specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use; solid carbide is hard but brittle and should not be dropped or subjected to side impact during handling.
