The M.A. FORD. 11112512 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It features a 1/8 inch diameter with a 0.02 inch corner radius, four flutes, and a 30-degree helix angle. The bright uncoated finish suits applications where coating is not required or where base carbide performance is preferred. Machined from micrograin carbide stock, this single-end tool is centercutting, allowing plunge entry as well as standard peripheral and slot milling. It belongs to M.A. FORD. Series 111 and is suited for both roughing and finishing operations.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills across metalworking shops handling ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The 3/8 inch length of cut and 1-1/2 inch overall length make it well suited for shallow-to-moderate depth milling passes in tight-clearance fixtures and smaller workpieces. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard toolholders with a 1/8 inch bore. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC setups. Machinists and toolroom operators working on precision components in steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium will find this tool applicable to their operations.
Designed for use with standard 1/8 inch bore toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include Steel, Stainless Steel, Cast Iron, Non-Ferrous Metal, Superalloys, Titanium, and Hard Material (Material codes: P, M, K, N, S, H).
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder bore and torque the collet or set screw per the toolholder manufacturer specifications before running the spindle. Verify runout at the cutting end before beginning a cut, as micrograin carbide is brittle and sensitive to deflection-induced chipping. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the target workpiece material and depth of cut.
