The M.A. FORD 11105510 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for precision milling in demanding metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.0551 inch (1.40 mm) cutting diameter and 4-flute configuration, this micro end mill delivers clean, repeatable cuts in tight-tolerance work. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining rigidity at small diameters. It is centercutting, allowing direct plunge entry without pre-drilling. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry make it compatible with standard CNC machining centers and manual mills. This tool is used by machinists and toolmakers working with precision components in production or toolroom environments.
The 11105510 is suited for milling ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys, as indicated by its primary workpiece material codes covering H, K, M, N, P, and S material groups. With a 0.1654 inch (4.20 mm) length of cut and 1.5 inch overall length, this Series 111 tool fits standard straight-cylindrical shank collets and tool holders. Its regular-length profile makes it a practical choice for shallow-pocket and slot milling operations where compact reach is preferred over extended projection.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical collet systems and CNC or manual milling machines accepting a 3.00 mm (approximately 0.118 inch) shank diameter. Suitable for material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped. Use a properly sized collet or tool holder matching the 3.00 mm shank diameter to ensure concentricity and minimize runout. Verify clamping torque per the tool holder manufacturer's specifications before operation. At micro diameters, excessive runout or improper clamping significantly increases the risk of tool breakage.
