The M.A. FORD. 11103150 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling operations in a wide range of metalworking applications. With a 0.0315-inch (0.80 mm) cutting diameter and 4 flutes, this miniature end mill delivers fine detail work where accuracy is critical. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining cutting stability at small diameters. It is centercutting capable, allowing plunge entry directly into the workpiece. Licensed machinists, CNC operators, and tool-and-die professionals working with precision components typically select this tool for tight-tolerance jobs.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on a broad range of workpiece materials, including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, plastics, and superalloys, as indicated by the primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. With a 0.0945-inch length of cut and a 1.5-inch overall length, it fits standard CNC machining centers and manual knee mills with appropriate collet toolholding. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 3.00 mm diameter seats securely in precision collets. This is a single-end, uncoated tool in the regular length category.
Compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering hardened materials, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, plastics, and superalloys. Fits standard collet toolholding systems accepting a 3.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or collet is clean and undamaged before seating the tool. At this diameter, runout control is critical — use a high-precision collet or hydraulic chuck and verify runout before cutting. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut for the length-of-cut range of 0.0000 to 0.1000 inches, as micro-diameter carbide tools are susceptible to fracture under side-load or vibration.
