The M.A. FORD. 11101570 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-precision milling at micro diameters. With a 0.0157 inch (0.40 mm) mill diameter and a 0.0472 inch (1.20 mm) length of cut, this tool is built for tight-tolerance work in small-feature machining applications. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral flute geometry provides efficient chip evacuation and a stable cut at reduced feed rates common to miniature tooling. At 1.5 inches overall length with a 3.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank, it fits standard tool holders used in CNC machining centers. This end mill is centercutting, allowing direct plunge entry. It is installed and used by machinists and CNC operators working in production or tool room environments.
This end mill is suited for milling operations requiring fine detail in small workpiece features. The Series 111 designation covers a range of micro end mills in regular length configurations. The primary workpiece material codes listed are H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, steel, heat-resistant alloys, and non-metallic materials. The uncoated carbide substrate performs across this range when speeds and feeds are properly dialed for the 0.0157 inch diameter. Typical applications include slot milling, contouring, and pocket milling at micro scale on CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles.
Compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer. Fits standard straight-cylindrical tool holders accepting a 3.00 mm shank diameter. Part of the M.A. FORD. Series 111 regular-length square end mill line.
Micro end mills at this diameter require a high-speed spindle with minimal runout; verify tool holder TIR before seating the tool. Secure the 3.00 mm straight shank fully into the collet or holder and confirm clamping force is appropriate for the shank diameter. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling per applicable shop safety procedures. At 0.0157 inch diameter, tool deflection and breakage risk are elevated at aggressive feed rates; start conservatively and adjust from established cutting data for solid carbide micro end mills.
