The LYNDEX-NIKKEN 800-014 is a 7/32 inch R8 collet machined from steel for use in Bridgeport-style and compatible R8-spindle milling machines. It accepts a 7/16-20 drawbar thread and is rated to a total indicator runout (TIR) of 0.0007 inches, making it suitable for precision milling, drilling, and light boring operations where concentricity matters. The collet seats directly into the R8 taper of the spindle and is tightened via the drawbar from above the quill. At 0.56 pounds, it is a compact, solid-steel toolholding component sized for 7/32 inch shank tooling.
This collet is intended for use in machine shops, toolrooms, and maintenance environments where R8-spindle knee mills or vertical milling machines are in service. It is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals during tooling changeovers. The 7/32 inch bore accommodates tooling with that specific shank diameter, making it a standard selection when working with smaller end mills, drills, or reamers of that size on R8-equipped equipment.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit collet for milling machines equipped with an R8 spindle taper and a 7/16-20 drawbar thread.
R8 collets are installed and removed by machinists with the machine powered down and the spindle at rest. The collet is inserted into the R8 taper and secured by threading the drawbar down from above the quill head - do not overtighten the drawbar, as this can deform the collet bore and reduce TIR performance. Always clean the spindle taper and collet surfaces before seating to prevent runout caused by chips or debris. Follow the machine manufacturer's drawbar torque guidance where available.
