The LUTRON AYLV603PBR is a magnetic low-voltage dimmer from the Ariadni series, designed for 3-way preset dimming of magnetic low-voltage lighting loads. Rated at 120 volts and 600VA (450 watts), it provides smooth, reliable light-level control for transformers driving halogen and other magnetic low-voltage fixtures. The preset feature allows the dimmer to return to a saved light level each time it is switched on. This unit is finished in brown to blend with standard decorator-style wallplates and is a common choice for residential and light commercial lighting retrofit or new-installation work performed by licensed electricians.
The AYLV603PBR is suited for 3-way switching applications where two switch locations control a single lighting zone loaded with magnetic low-voltage transformers. Typical installations include hallways, stairways, living areas, and accent lighting circuits using low-voltage track or pendant fixtures. The 600VA rating accommodates multiple low-voltage fixtures on a shared circuit within the rated load. This dimmer is not intended for use with electronic low-voltage (ELV), incandescent-only, or LED/CFL loads unless explicitly rated for those load types.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation dimmer for magnetic low-voltage transformer-based lighting systems requiring 3-way preset control at 120 volts.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit at the breaker panel and verify absence of voltage before making any wiring connections. In a 3-way application, a compatible 3-way dimmer or switch must be used at the second control location per the manufacturer wiring diagram. Do not exceed the 600VA rated load capacity and do not install on electronic low-voltage, LED, or CFL loads unless the fixture and load type are confirmed compatible.
