The LUKJAN ox5206 is a 6-inch, 45-degree oval elbow duct fitting designed for directional transitions in residential and commercial HVAC duct systems. Fabricated from galvanized steel, this fitting delivers a smooth change of direction that supports consistent airflow through oval ductwork runs. Its vertical orientation makes it well suited for installations where horizontal-to-vertical or angled transitions are required. HVAC technicians and sheet metal installers use this fitting when routing supply or return air duct lines around structural obstructions or through confined spaces. The oval profile reduces the overall installed height compared to a round fitting of equivalent area, a common advantage in tight plenum or ceiling applications.
This fitting is appropriate for both new construction and retrofit HVAC duct installations. It performs in light-commercial ventilation layouts and standard residential forced-air systems where oval ductwork is the specified configuration. The 45-degree angle provides a less abrupt turn than a 90-degree elbow, which helps reduce turbulence and static pressure loss at the transition point. Sheet metal contractors and HVAC installers working on supply trunk lines, branch takeoffs, or equipment room layouts will find this fitting compatible with standard oval duct fabrication practices.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for oval HVAC duct systems in residential and light-commercial forced-air applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified HVAC technician or licensed sheet metal contractor in accordance with applicable mechanical codes, including SMACNA duct construction standards. Power down and lock out the air handling unit before connecting or sealing any duct fittings. Secure the fitting to adjacent duct sections using sheet metal screws and seal all joints with UL 181-listed duct tape or mastic sealant to prevent air leakage. Verify duct sizing and system static pressure requirements before finalizing the fitting position in the duct layout.
