The Lukjan DX210814 is a duct vertical elbow designed for ductwork systems. It allows for a change in direction within the duct system at a ninety-degree angle. This product is essential for connecting ducts in HVAC applications.
This elbow is a vital component for HVAC installations that require efficient airflow redirection.
I am a Structural Designer as well as a Mechanical Designer with 36 years of experience. I use AutoCAD, Advanced Steel, Solidworks and Navisworks daily in my line of work.
I was disappointed with the Voomi website, as there were no dimensional cut sheets available for the individual duct components available, whereby I could verify dimensions for clearance and fitment in my application. From my experience, this is a bit unprofessional, but as my need was urgent, ‘any port in a storm’ was the driving reason that I selected Voomi as my source for this ductwork dilemma.
I ordered two identical pieces, with the same SKU, on the same day within a single order. These two purchased components were shipped from different states and ( I assume ) different manufacturing facilities. However, when I placed them side by side, and/or end to end, they are more than 1 inch different in size, with differing inner radius arc curves.
I find that by the standards in which I have worked, this is an unacceptable variation. Perhaps in the fabrication of HVAC ductwork, this level of inconsistency is acceptable. However, if the AISC standards for steel fabrication can be held to 1/16 inch dimensional variation for 50KSI steel members, surely components that are only 26 to 30 gauge in thickness can be cut, bent, folded and riveted together with a bit more consistency than
+/- an inch or more.
