The LS ELECTRIC 705104200 is a 3-pole manual motor starter from the Metasol Series, designed to provide overcurrent protection and manual on/off switching for three-phase motor circuits. Rated for 690 volts at 50/60 Hz, it carries a trip range of 2.5 to 4 amps and a frame type of 32AF, making it well-suited for light-duty motor branch-circuit protection. The unit features a rotary handle for manual operation and screw terminals that accept wire from 18 to 10 AWG on the line side and 18 to 8 AWG on the load side. Licensed electricians and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary installers of this device.
This manual motor starter is used in commercial and industrial electrical panels where individual motor circuits require local disconnect and overload protection without a separate contactor-overload relay combination. The Metasol Series is built for panel board and machine control applications. The IP20 enclosure rating suits indoor, protected environments. Its dual DIN rail and screw mounting options give installers flexibility when integrating the device into existing enclosures or new control panels. The interrupt rating of 8 kA makes it appropriate for standard branch-circuit applications where available fault current is within that threshold.
Designed as an OEM-style manual motor starter replacement or new-installation component within the LS ELECTRIC Metasol Series motor protection lineup.
Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and any applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before mounting, wiring, or adjusting the device. Confirm available fault current at the installation point does not exceed the 8 kA interrupt rating before applying to a branch circuit. Set the trip adjustment to match the full-load amperage of the protected motor after installation is complete.
