The LOVEJOY 68514458107 is a flexible Oldham coupling hub designed for shaft-to-shaft power transmission in motion control and mechanical drive applications. The hub features an aluminum body with a polyacetal (acetal resin) insert slot interface and accepts a 1/2 inch bore. Outside diameter measures 0.984 inches and overall length is 1.535 inches. The clamp style design secures to the shaft without set screws that could mar shaft surfaces. Rated at 18 inch-pounds of torque, this hub is suited for light-duty motion control systems where angular and parallel misalignment compensation is needed. Mechanical technicians and motion control specialists are the typical installers.
Oldham couplings are common in CNC machinery, conveyor drives, stepper and servo motor shaft connections, pump drives, and other precision motion applications where misalignment tolerance and electrical isolation between shafts is required. The polyacetal center insert slides between two hubs to transmit torque while accommodating shaft misalignment. This hub is sold individually. To assemble a complete Oldham coupling, two hubs of the same outside diameter and one matching center insert must be ordered. The two hubs may have different bore sizes to match dissimilar shaft diameters.
Designed for use in Oldham coupling assemblies requiring two hubs of matching outside diameter (0.984 inches) paired with one compatible center insert. Bores between the two hubs may differ to accommodate different shaft sizes on each drive side.
Installation is performed by mechanical technicians or maintenance personnel. De-energize and lock out the drive system before installing or removing coupling components. The clamp style hub should be positioned on the shaft and fastened to the specified torque using appropriate hand tools before coupling assembly is completed with the mating hub and insert. Do not operate the coupling assembly with a missing or damaged polyacetal insert.
