The LOVEJOY 68514436414 is a flexible two-piece sleeve coupling insert made from EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer). It serves as the elastomeric element between two jaw-style coupling hubs, absorbing shock loads, dampening vibration, and accommodating minor shaft misalignment in rotating equipment. The sleeve fits bore diameters from 5/8 inch to 1-5/8 inches and measures 2.19 inches in overall length with a 4.34-inch outside diameter. It is rated for up to 725 inch-pounds of torque and a maximum speed of 5,850 RPM. Maintenance technicians and millwrights install this part during routine coupling service or as a replacement when the elastomeric element shows wear, cracking, or compression set.
This sleeve is designed for use in the LOVEJOY JE series jaw coupling system. Typical applications include HVAC fan drives, pump drives, compressor drives, and light industrial power transmission where a flexible coupling is required to protect connected equipment from shock and vibration. The two-piece construction allows the sleeve to be replaced without moving the coupled shafts or hubs, making it well suited for installations where repositioning equipment is not practical. It performs reliably in moderate-temperature environments where EPDM material properties are appropriate.
Designed for use with LOVEJOY JE series jaw coupling hubs, Coupling Size Code 7, accommodating shaft bore diameters from 5/8 inch to 1-5/8 inches.
Installation is typically performed by a qualified millwright or mechanical technician. De-energize and lock out the drive motor before removing any coupling components. Inspect both coupling hubs for wear, corrosion, or damage before installing the new sleeve. The two-piece sleeve seats between the jaws of the two hubs without requiring hub removal; ensure the sleeve is fully seated and the hubs are at the correct gap spacing before returning the drive to service.
