The LOVEJOY 68514436120 is a flexible coupling hub designed for mechanical power transmission applications. This cast iron hub accepts a maximum bore diameter of 1 inch and features a 1/4-inch keyway width with a 1/8-inch keyway depth for positive shaft engagement. With an outer diameter of 4-5/8 inches and an overall length of 3.94 inches, it is sized for mid-range industrial and commercial drive systems. Rated to a maximum of 5,850 RPM, this hub suits moderate-speed rotating equipment. It is installed by millwrights, HVAC mechanics, and industrial service technicians working on pumps, fans, compressors, and similar coupled-shaft assemblies.
This flexible coupling hub is suited for use in light-to-medium industrial drive trains where shaft misalignment compensation is needed. Typical applications include centrifugal pump drives, blower and fan assemblies, and compressor systems found in commercial HVAC and industrial process environments. The hub pairs with a mating hub and a flexible element or spider insert to complete the coupling assembly. Size code 7S identifies the coupling series and governs interchangeability with compatible mating components.
Designed as an OEM-style flexible coupling hub within the 7S coupling size series. Mates with corresponding 7S-series hubs and flexible spider elements. Verify bore, keyway, and coupling size code against the mating hub and driven equipment shaft specifications before installation.
Installation is typically performed by a millwright or qualified mechanical technician. De-energize and lock out all power to the drive system before disassembly or installation per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Bore the hub to the required shaft diameter before installation if supplied unmachined, and confirm keyway dimensions match the shaft key. Do not exceed the rated maximum RPM for the coupling assembly, and verify shaft alignment to within the tolerance specified for the coupling series before final connection.
