The LOVEJOY 68514425308 is a Hytrel flexible coupling spider designed for use in the L070 jaw-type coupling series. The spider element seats between two mating hubs and transmits torque while absorbing shock and dampening vibration. It accepts a maximum bore diameter of 3/4 inch and measures 1.36 inches in outside diameter with an overall length of 2.0 inches. Hytrel construction provides resistance to oil, flexing fatigue, and moderate chemical exposure. The rated torque capacity is 114 inch-pounds (12.90 N/m). Licensed trades and mechanical contractors install this element as the consumable wear component in flexible drive couplings on pumps, blowers, compressors, and similar rotating equipment.
The L070 spider is suited for light-duty industrial and commercial mechanical drive applications where a jaw coupling connects a motor shaft to a driven component. Common install scenarios include small pump sets, fan drives, and HVAC equipment with close-coupled motor arrangements. This spider element is sold individually and requires two separately ordered L070 hubs to form a complete coupling assembly. One spider and two hubs are needed per complete coupling.
Designed for use in the LOVEJOY L070 jaw coupling series. Two L070 hubs and one spider are required to form a complete coupling assembly. Hub compatibility is limited to the L070 series designation.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed millwright, mechanical contractor, or qualified maintenance technician. De-energize and lock out the drive motor before disassembling any coupling. The spider element should be inspected for wear, cracking, or deformation at each service interval and replaced before visible deterioration leads to coupling failure. Do not force or stretch the spider during installation; seat it evenly between hub jaws by hand to avoid preloading the element.
