The LOUISVILLE LADDER fe8910 is a fiberglass straight ladder rated for manhole and below-ground access applications. Built to Type IAA duty rating, it carries up to 375 lb and stands 10 ft tall with 10 evenly spaced rungs at 12 inches on center. The fiberglass rails are nonconductive, making this ladder suitable for electricians and other tradespeople working in proximity to energized equipment or wiring. Side rail bumpers protect both the ladder and the structure at the point of entry. At 21 lb, it is light enough to be carried and positioned by a single technician.
This ladder is designed for access to manholes, utility vaults, sewer structures, and wells where a narrow-width ladder is required to fit within a confined entry point. It is appropriate for residential and commercial utility work, municipal maintenance, and industrial service environments. The 14.5-inch overall width is sized to pass through standard manhole openings. Ribbed, round rungs with a 1.5-inch diameter provide secure footing. Maximum standing height is 6 ft, with a maximum reach height of 12.6 ft.
Designed as a single-section straight ladder for manhole and confined below-grade entry applications meeting ANSI and OSHA ladder requirements.
Positioning and use of this ladder should comply with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and applicable ANSI A14 standards for portable ladder safety. Inspect the ladder for damage, debris, or wet rail surfaces before each use. Secure the top of the ladder against lateral movement before descending into a confined space or below-grade structure. Confined space entry may require additional permits, atmospheric testing, and a second person on standby per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146.
