The LITTLE FIREFIGHTER LFNAGV-100 is a 90-degree earthquake-activated automatic gas shut-off valve designed for natural gas supply lines. When seismic activity triggers the valve, it automatically closes to stop gas flow, helping to prevent post-earthquake gas leaks and fire hazards. The valve is sized for 1-inch pipe connections and is intended for installation by licensed plumbers or gas fitters as part of a residential or light commercial gas system. It is a passive safety device that requires no electrical power to operate.
This valve is suited for residential and light commercial applications where natural gas service enters a structure. It is typically installed at or near the gas meter or at the main service entry point. Local building codes in seismically active regions often require automatic gas shut-off valves on new construction and renovations. A licensed gas contractor should determine the correct installation location per applicable code requirements.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation seismic gas shut-off valve for 1-inch natural gas supply piping systems in residential and light commercial service.
Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber or gas fitter in accordance with local codes and applicable sections of the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC). Shut off the gas supply at the utility meter and verify zero pressure at the work point before beginning any connections. Do not install this valve in a location where it may be subjected to normal vibration from equipment, traffic, or mechanical sources, as incidental vibration can trigger the seismic mechanism. After installation, follow the manufacturer's reset procedure and leak-test all connections with an approved gas leak detection solution before restoring service.
