The LIONBEAM LB-HDMI-EXTHDN is an HDMI extender kit that transmits 4K x 2K video at 30Hz over a single CAT5, CAT5e, or CAT6 cable at distances up to 394 feet (120 meters). It uses HDbitT over IP technology to maintain signal integrity across long runs without active boosters mid-span. The kit includes a transmitter and receiver unit. The receiver can be powered directly from the transmitter through the same CAT-X cable using Power over Cable (PoC), eliminating the need for a separate power supply at the remote end. IR pass-back and bidirectional RS232 support allow control of the HDMI source device from the receiver location.
This extender is suited for installations where an HDMI source must feed a display located beyond the reach of a standard HDMI cable. Typical applications include digital signage, video conferencing systems, production and field video capture, and classroom AV distribution. The PoC feature simplifies wiring in ceiling or wall-mounted display installations where running a second power cable to the receiver is not practical. RS232 bidirectional control makes it viable in systems that require source-device management from the display end.
Designed for use with HDMI source devices and displays in systems cabled with CAT5, CAT5e, or CAT6 infrastructure. Suitable for digital signage, video conferencing, production video, and educational AV distribution environments.
Installation is typically performed by a low-voltage AV technician or qualified electrician following local low-voltage wiring codes. Power down the HDMI source and display before connecting or disconnecting the transmitter and receiver units. Use a straight-through (not crossover) CAT5, CAT5e, or CAT6 cable for the link run. Do not exceed the 394-foot maximum cable run, as signal degradation beyond this distance is not covered by the PoC or HDbitT architecture of this unit.
