The LINCOLN ELECTRIC ED030565 is an E6013 mild steel welding electrode designed for shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) applications. At 1/8 inch in diameter and 14 inches in length, this stick electrode is suited for general-purpose welding on mild steel base metals. The E6013 classification indicates a minimum tensile strength of 60,000 psi, all-position capability, and a rutile-based flux coating that produces a soft arc with easy slag removal. It is commonly installed by licensed welders, maintenance technicians, and fabricators working in light industrial and structural repair settings.
This electrode is appropriate for single-pass and multi-pass welds on mild steel in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions. It performs well on thin to medium-gauge base metals and is a standard choice for general fabrication, maintenance welding, and repair work. The easy-strike and re-strike characteristics make it practical for both experienced welders and entry-level technicians under supervision.
Designed as a standard E6013 stick electrode for use with constant-current (CC) SMAW welding machines set to the appropriate amperage range for a 1/8 inch diameter rod on mild steel base metal.
Installation is performed by a qualified welder using a properly rated SMAW power source. Ensure the welding machine is set to the correct polarity and amperage range for the 1/8 inch diameter before striking an arc. Store electrodes in a dry environment and recondition any moisture-exposed rods in a rod oven prior to use. Follow applicable AWS, OSHA, and local safety standards including proper PPE, ventilation, and fire watch procedures.
