The LIFESAFETY POWER C8-BOXED is an access power distribution module designed to supply and protect multiple locking device circuits in electronic access control systems. It provides 8 individual lock outputs, each protected by a dedicated 3-amp fuse, allowing technicians to independently protect and troubleshoot each door circuit without taking down the entire system. This module is suited for commercial and institutional access control installations where multiple electric strikes, magnetic locks, or electrified hardware must be powered from a centralized source. Licensed low-voltage and access control technicians are the primary installers of this equipment.
This module is used in commercial access control deployments where a central power supply must distribute protected power to multiple locking devices across a facility. Typical applications include office buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, and multi-door secured areas requiring independent circuit protection at each locking point. The 8-output configuration supports mid-to-large door counts from a single distribution point, reducing wiring complexity and simplifying fuse-level fault isolation during service calls.
Designed as an OEM-style access power distribution module for use with centralized access control power supplies in commercial locking device applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or access control technician in accordance with applicable local codes and NFPA 70 (NEC) requirements for low-voltage power distribution. Disconnect and de-energize the primary access power supply before making any connections to the distribution module. Verify that the load current draw of each connected locking device does not exceed the 3-amp fuse rating for that output. Replace blown fuses only with fuses of the correct rated value to maintain proper circuit protection.
