The LH DOTTIE spbk81 is a Sharpeez metal piercing screw designed to drill through thin sheet metal and form its own mating threads without a pre-drilled pilot hole. The screw features a slotted hex washer head measuring 0.322 to 0.348 inches in diameter, a sharp point for self-piercing entry, and a 15 threads-per-inch DWF thread form. The 1/4-inch hex head is engineered to resist cam-out and stripping under power-driver torque. Made from carbon steel with a zinc plated finish for corrosion resistance, these screws are bulk packed for high-volume trade use. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and electricians reach for this fastener when securing light-gauge sheet metal assemblies on the job.
The spbk81 is suited for residential and commercial applications involving thin sheet metal work. Common install scenarios include ductwork assembly and connection, HVAC equipment enclosure fastening, electrical panel and conduit support attachment, and light-gauge plumbing bracket work. The bulk pack format supports service vehicles and shop stock where high fastener turnover is expected. The No. 2 driver size is compatible with standard hex-head screw drivers and 1/4-inch hex bit adapters used across all trades.
Designed as a self-piercing fastener for light-gauge sheet metal applications including HVAC ductwork, plumbing supports, and electrical enclosures. Fits standard 1/4-inch hex drivers and No. 2 slotted bit adapters.
Installation is typically performed by HVAC technicians, electricians, or plumbers using a power drill or impact driver with a 1/4-inch hex bit or No. 2 slotted adapter. Ensure the target material is within the rated thickness range for self-piercing screws before driving. De-energize any electrical equipment and depressurize or shut off any plumbing systems before fastening into enclosures or housings. Avoid over-driving, which can strip the formed threads in light-gauge metal.
