The LH DOTTIE bx3p is a non-metallic cable staple designed to secure BX, MC, and Romex wiring to wooden framing members. Measuring 9/16 inches wide by 1-3/16 inches in length, this staple is formed from 12-gauge low carbon steel and finished with a zinc plating for corrosion resistance. Each pail contains 7500 staples, making it well suited for high-volume electrical rough-in work. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors are the primary installers. The staple profile is sized to fit over 14/3, 12/3, and 10/3 cable runs without crushing the jacket, keeping installations compliant with NEC support and securing requirements.
This staple is used in residential and light commercial electrical installations where BX, MC armored cable, or Romex non-metallic sheathed cable must be fastened to wood studs, joists, or other wood framing. Typical applications include new construction rough-in, panel feed runs, and branch circuit wiring where code requires cable to be secured at regular intervals. The bulk pail format is practical for production framing jobs or service vehicles stocking high-use fasteners. Compatible cable sizes include 14/3, 12/3, and 10/3.
Designed to secure 14/3, 12/3, and 10/3 BX, MC, and Romex non-metallic sheathed cable to wooden studs and framing members in residential and light commercial electrical installations.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians in accordance with applicable NEC requirements for cable support and securing intervals. De-energize all circuits in the work area before fastening cable near existing wiring. Drive staples with a hammer or cable staple gun — do not overdrive, as crushing the cable jacket can damage conductors and create a code violation. Verify that staple width clears the cable outer jacket without pinching.
