The LH DOTTIE 822 is a rubber splicing and friction tape rated for 600 volts and used to provide mechanical protection against abrasion and penetration at cable splices, wire terminations, and conductor insulation repairs. At 30 mil thickness and 0.75 inches wide with a 22-foot roll length, it delivers substantial insulating and protective coverage per roll. The rubber construction conforms well to irregular surfaces, making it suited for wrapping cable assemblies, securing wire bundles, and reinforcing splice points in residential and commercial electrical work. Licensed electricians and wiremen are the primary installers.
This tape is applied in general electrical wiring applications where mechanical protection and temporary binding are required. It serves as a friction tape over splices and cable ends, as a harnessing tape for bundling wire runs, and as a non-slip grip wrap when applied over tool handles. Its 600-volt rating makes it appropriate for standard low-voltage wiring circuits. It is sold individually and is commonly stocked for service van use where multiple tape types are kept on hand for field repairs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use rubber friction tape for standard electrical splicing, harnessing, and mechanical protection applications on low-voltage wire and cable assemblies.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians following applicable NEC guidelines. De-energize all circuits before applying tape to splices or wire terminations. Stretch the tape slightly during application to ensure conformity and adhesion around irregular splice profiles. Do not use as the sole insulating barrier where listed electrical tape is required by code.
