The LG KNMLB121A is a multi-position indoor air handler unit designed for use in multi-zone ductless mini-split systems charged with R-32 refrigerant. It delivers 12,000 BTU/h of cooling capacity and 15,000 BTU/h of heating capacity through an inverter-driven ECM fan motor that maintains constant airflow regardless of external static pressure. The unit supports hot start operation, soft dry mode, auto operation, auto restart, and a programmable on/off/weekly timer. An integrated R-32 leak detection sensor and built-in dry contact for third-party thermostat integration make this a flexible choice for residential and light commercial HVAC applications.
This air handler is intended for multi-zone systems where each zone requires an independently controlled indoor unit. Its multi-position design allows installation in multiple orientations to accommodate a range of residential and light commercial spaces. Licensed HVAC technicians performing multi-zone mini-split retrofits or new construction installs will find the integrated dry contact particularly useful when a building automation system or conventional thermostat is already in place. The ECM fan motor sustains airflow between 420 and 500 CFM across varying system conditions.
Designed for use in LG Multi F multi-zone ductless systems using R-32 refrigerant. Consult the outdoor unit compatibility documentation to confirm matched system pairings before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the manufacturer installation manual. Shut down and lock out the outdoor unit and disconnect all power before connecting refrigerant lines or low-voltage wiring. R-32 is an A2L mildly flammable refrigerant — follow applicable safety standards and local jurisdiction requirements for handling and leak testing. Verify airflow direction, drain line slope, and condensate routing before startup.
