The LEVITON TELCOM ODS06-IDI is a passive infrared (PIR) occupancy sensor wall switch designed to automatically control lighting loads based on detected motion within a space. Operating with a 180-degree detection angle, this wall-mount device replaces a standard single-pole switch and integrates occupancy-based switching directly at the wiring point. It is installed by licensed electricians in commercial and residential settings where automated lighting control and energy management are required.
The ODS06-IDI is suited for wall-switch replacement applications in offices, conference rooms, restrooms, storage areas, and similar spaces where hands-free or automatic lighting control is desired. The 180-degree field of view covers wide room geometries when mounted at standard switch height. Installation follows standard low-voltage and line-voltage wiring practices depending on the circuit type, and the device fits a standard single-gang electrical box.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or upgrade for standard single-pole wall switch positions in residential and light commercial lighting control applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit at the breaker panel and verify absence of voltage before removing the existing switch or making any wiring connections. The sensor should be mounted at a height and orientation that maximizes coverage of the intended detection zone. Do not install behind obstructions or in locations where airflow from HVAC registers may cause false triggering.
