The LEVITON TELCOM GFTR2-IGI is a 20-amp tamper-resistant isolated ground GFCI receptacle finished in ivory. It combines ground fault circuit interrupter protection with an isolated grounding path, making it the correct choice for sensitive electronic equipment installations where electrical noise on the ground conductor must be minimized. The tamper-resistant shutter mechanism requires simultaneous pressure on both slots before a plug can be inserted, meeting NEC requirements for tamper resistance in residential and commercial occupancies. Licensed electricians are the primary installers of this device.
This receptacle is suited for 20-amp branch circuits in locations where both personnel protection and equipment-sensitive grounding are required. Typical applications include medical offices, laboratories, data rooms, and commercial spaces housing audio-visual or computer equipment. The isolated ground feature allows the equipment ground to be run separately back to the panel without picking up induced noise from adjacent wiring, reducing interference in sensitive circuits. The ivory finish matches standard ivory wiring device trim in commercial and institutional settings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation GFCI receptacle for 20-amp, 125-volt isolated ground branch circuits in commercial and residential applications requiring tamper-resistant protection.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 406 and applicable local codes. De-energize the branch circuit at the panel and verify absence of voltage with a meter before beginning work. The isolated ground terminal must be wired to an insulated equipment ground conductor run separately back to the panel grounding point. Follow the device wiring label markings and load-side line-side designations exactly when connecting downstream outlets in a protected circuit.
