The LEVITON TELCOM B2120-B is a split-phase surge protective device (SPD) panel designed for 120/240-volt electrical systems. It provides transient voltage surge suppression at the panel level, protecting downstream circuits and connected equipment from voltage spikes caused by lightning, utility switching, and load-side events. This type of SPD is typically installed at the main service panel or sub-panel by a licensed electrician as part of a whole-structure surge protection strategy. It ships as a single unit and is classified as a hardware accessory component.
The B2120-B is suited for residential and light commercial applications where split-phase 120/240-volt service is present. Panel-mount SPDs of this type are commonly installed in conjunction with point-of-use surge protectors to provide layered protection. A licensed electrician installs this device directly at the load center, making it appropriate for new construction as well as retrofit service upgrades.
Designed as an OEM-style panel-mount surge protective device for split-phase 120/240-volt residential and light commercial load centers.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 285 governing surge-protective devices. The main breaker or utility disconnect must be shut off and the panel verified de-energized before any wiring connections are made. Follow the manufacturer documentation for proper lead connection and grounding requirements. Do not install with the service energized.
