The LEVITON TELCOM 8300-PLO is a duplex receptacle with an integrated pilot light, finished in orange, designed for two-pole wiring configurations. The built-in indicator light provides a visible status signal at the outlet face, allowing technicians and electricians to confirm circuit energization at a glance without using a separate tester. This type of device is commonly installed in commercial, industrial, and institutional settings where circuit monitoring and outlet identification are required at the device level. Licensed electricians are the primary installers of this receptacle.
The 8300-PLO is suited for two-pole circuit applications where a visual indicator at the outlet is specified by design, code, or facility management requirements. The orange color coding supports zone or circuit identification in multi-circuit panel environments, machine rooms, data centers, and similar installations where outlet identification by color is part of the facility wiring plan. It is sold and packaged as an individual unit.
Designed as an OEM-style wiring device for standard two-pole duplex receptacle installations in commercial and industrial electrical systems where pilot light indication is required.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit at the breaker panel and verify absence of voltage with a non-contact tester before beginning work. Follow standard receptacle wiring procedures for the two-pole configuration and ensure the pilot light leads are properly terminated per the device wiring diagram. Do not exceed the device voltage and amperage ratings.
