The LEVITON TELCOM 8200-IGB is an isolated ground, hospital grade duplex receptacle rated for NEMA 5-15R configurations. Isolated ground receptacles are designed to reduce electrical noise on sensitive equipment circuits by running a separate grounding conductor back to the panel without picking up noise from conduit or other ground paths. Hospital grade units meet the heightened durability and safety standards required for patient care environments. Licensed electricians install this receptacle in locations where electronic equipment performance depends on a clean ground reference.

Installation Notes

Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize the branch circuit at the panel and verify absence of voltage with a meter before beginning work. The isolated ground conductor must be routed separately back to the panel ground bus and must not be bonded to the equipment grounding conductor in the box. Hospital grade receptacles in patient care areas are subject to additional inspection and testing requirements under NFPA 99.
