The LEVITON MFG CO S08-CS320-2WS is a commercial specification grade 3-way grounded toggle switch designed for heavy-duty switching applications in commercial and residential electrical systems. Rated at 20 amps at 120/277 volts, it handles 1 HP at 120 volts and 2 HP at 240 volts, making it suitable for both lighting and motor load circuits. The switch features large silver-cadmium oxide contacts engineered for extended service life and a heavy-gauge rust-resistant steel mounting strap for structural integrity. Licensed electricians install this switch as part of branch-circuit wiring covered under NEC standards.
This switch is suited for commercial and light industrial environments where specification grade components are required. It fits standard single-gang wallboxes and is commonly installed in corridors, stairwells, and other locations requiring 3-way switching control from two points. The captive mounting screws and pre-backed-out large-head terminal screws support fast, reliable side wiring of conductors up to No. 10 copper wire. Break-off plaster ears allow alignment adjustments for flush-mount installations in drywall or plaster surfaces. The white finish is appropriate for standard commercial finish plates.
Designed as an OEM-style specification grade replacement or new-installation 3-way toggle switch for standard single-gang electrical boxes in commercial and residential branch-circuit wiring applications.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize the branch circuit at the panel and verify absence of voltage with a meter before beginning any wiring work. Ensure wire gauge and circuit ampacity match the switch rating before terminating conductors. Do not exceed the rated conductor size of No. 10 copper at the side-wiring terminals.
