The LEVITON MFG CO R55-00275-00E is a dual-rated, right-angle dead front plug designed for 30-amp and 50-amp grounding applications at 125/250 volts. It includes an L-shaped 30A blade (NEMA 14-30P) and a flat 50A blade (NEMA 14-50P) within a single housing. A built-in rejection feature prevents the cover from closing if any blade is incorrectly seated, reducing wiring errors in the field. Zinc-plated steel screws and a hinged shell-and-bottom construction speed up assembly. This plug ships as a rack pack of 5 units and is both UL Listed and CSA Listed. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors are the primary installers.
This plug is suited for residential and light commercial wiring applications where NEMA 14-30P or NEMA 14-50P service connections are required, such as electric ranges, dryers, EV charging circuits, and generator inlet connections. Cord clamp compatibility covers No. 14, 12, 10, 8, and 6 AWG round cord as well as No. 10/3 SRDT, 8/2-10/1 SRDT, and 6/2-8/1 flat wire. Cord diameter acceptance ranges from 0.750 inches to 1.125 inches, accommodating a broad range of supply cords used in these load types.
Designed as an OEM-style wiring device for circuits requiring NEMA 14-30P or NEMA 14-50P grounding plugs at 125/250 volts. Compatible with No. 14, 12, 10, 8, and 6 AWG round cord and No. 10/3 SRDT, 8/2-10/1 SRDT, and 6/2-8/1 flat wire cord types as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before disassembling or terminating the plug. Verify blade positioning is correct and confirm the rejection feature allows full closure before placing the assembly into service. Do not exceed the rated amperage or voltage for the blade configuration being used.
