The LEVITON MFG CO R14-GFNT1-0KE is a 15-amp, self-testing slim GFCI outlet designed for residential and light-commercial electrical installations. It monitors ground fault conditions continuously and interrupts power automatically when a fault is detected, protecting against electrical shock and electrocution. The slim-profile housing allows installation in tight wall boxes where standard-depth GFCI devices may not fit. A built-in reset lockout feature prevents the device from resetting if it is miswired or if a fault condition persists, keeping noncompliant installations from going unnoticed. Licensed electricians and qualified installers are the primary audience for this device.
This outlet is intended for installation in locations near water sources, including kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, basements, garages, and outdoor receptacle locations. Its automatic self-test function satisfies the latest UL auto-monitoring standards without requiring manual testing by the occupant or technician. The device comes in black and is sold in a package of six, making it suitable for multi-outlet rough-in projects or service calls requiring several GFCI replacements in a single location.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install GFCI receptacle for standard 15-amp residential and light-commercial branch circuits requiring ground fault protection per NEC requirements.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 406 and all applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit at the breaker panel and verify absence of voltage with a meter before wiring. Follow the line and load terminal labeling on the device for correct wiring; miswiring will trigger the reset lockout and the outlet will not reset until the wiring is corrected. For outdoor and wet-location installations, use an appropriate in-use cover rated for the exposure.
