The LEVITON MFG CO R11-GFNT1-0KI is a 15-amp, self-testing slim GFCI outlet designed for residential and light commercial electrical installations. It monitors its own ground-fault protection circuitry automatically, eliminating the need for manual periodic testing. When a ground fault is detected, the device interrupts power immediately to reduce the risk of electrical shock or electrocution. A reset lockout feature prevents the outlet from being reset if it is miswired or if the device is not functioning properly. The slim form factor simplifies installation in standard single-gang boxes, even in tight wall cavities. This package contains 6 units in ivory finish. Licensed electricians are the primary installers of this device.
This outlet is intended for use in locations where water exposure is a concern, including kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, basements, garages, and outdoor spaces. The self-test functionality meets the latest UL standards for auto-monitoring, providing continuous verification that the ground-fault protection circuit is operational. It meets or exceeds National Electric Code (NEC) requirements for GFCI protection in wet and damp locations, making it a code-compliant choice for both new construction and retrofit projects.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation GFCI outlet for standard 15-amp residential and light commercial branch circuits in single-gang electrical boxes.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements and applicable local codes. Always shut off the branch circuit breaker and verify the circuit is de-energized with a non-contact voltage tester before wiring. Follow the load and line terminal markings on the device to ensure proper wiring orientation. Miswired connections will trigger the reset lockout, preventing the outlet from being placed into service until the wiring error is corrected.
