The LEVITON MFG CO R01-DOS02-1LI is a passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor light switch in the Decora style, designed to replace a standard single-pole wall switch. It delivers automatic lighting control by detecting occupancy within a 180-degree field of view covering up to 900 square feet. When motion is detected, the switch turns lights on; when the space is vacant, it shuts them off automatically. The shallow, compact form factor fits into standard wall boxes without modification. This package includes 3 switches, making it practical for multi-room installations in residential and light commercial settings.
This switch is suited for spaces where hands-free lighting control adds operational value: laundry rooms, basements, storage areas, pantries, garages, and utility corridors. It supports compliance with 2019 and 2022 California Title 24, Part 6 Vacancy Control Device Requirements, making it appropriate for California new-construction and renovation projects requiring code-compliant occupancy-sensing controls. User-adjustable settings for time-out duration, sensitivity, and ambient light threshold allow the switch to be tuned to the specific demands of each installation location without removing the wallplate or faceplate.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for standard single-pole light switches in residential and light commercial wiring applications where occupancy-sensing control is required.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician or qualified tradesperson. Shut off power at the circuit breaker before removing the existing switch and making any wire connections. Work must comply with applicable NEC requirements for switching devices and occupancy sensors. Confirm load type and wattage ratings are within the switch specifications before energizing the circuit.
