The LEVITON MFG CO R62-05224-2WS is a heavy-duty, specification-grade white duplex switch designed for commercial and industrial electrical installations. It combines two single-pole switches in a single device body, rated at 15 amps and compatible with 120-volt and 277-volt AC circuits. The switch accepts conductors up to No. 10 AWG, making it suitable for the branch-circuit wiring gauges commonly found in commercial light-switching applications. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this device in new construction and retrofit wiring projects where dual switching from one location is required.
This duplex switch is well suited for commercial office spaces, warehouses, and institutional facilities where two independent lighting circuits or loads must be controlled from the same wall box. Break-off fins allow conversion to a two-circuit configuration, and the switches can be wired on a common feed or completely independent of each other. The motor rating of 1/2 HP at 120 volts and 2 HP at 240 volts also makes it appropriate for small motor load switching in light commercial settings. Package quantity is 9 units per package.
Designed as a specification-grade duplex single-pole switch for commercial and light industrial branch-circuit wiring applications rated at 15A, 120V, and 277V AC.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. Always de-energize the circuit at the breaker panel and verify the absence of voltage with a meter before beginning wiring. The break-off fins must be fully removed with lineman's pliers before wiring as a two-circuit device. Ensure the wall box fill capacity accommodates the conductor count and device volume per NEC Article 314.
